How to Get OneDrive into File Explorer
In today’s digital age, cloud storage services like OneDrive have become an integral part of our daily lives. OneDrive, provided by Microsoft, offers users a convenient way to store, share, and sync their files across multiple devices. However, by default, OneDrive is not integrated into the File Explorer on Windows. This article will guide you through the steps to get OneDrive into File Explorer, making it easier to manage your files and folders.
Step 1: Open File Explorer
To begin, open the File Explorer on your Windows computer. You can do this by clicking on the “File Explorer” icon on the taskbar, or by pressing the Windows key + E on your keyboard.
Step 2: Add OneDrive to File Explorer
Once File Explorer is open, you will see a sidebar on the left side of the window. Look for the “File Explorer” option and click on it. Then, scroll down and click on “Show all folders.” This will expand the sidebar to display all available locations.
Step 3: Right-click on “This PC” and select “Properties”
In the expanded sidebar, you will see “This PC” listed. Right-click on it and select “Properties” from the context menu.
Step 4: Go to the “Location” tab
In the Properties window, click on the “Location” tab. Here, you will find the path to your OneDrive folder.
Step 5: Copy the OneDrive path
Click on the “Move” button to open the “Choose Location” window. In this window, copy the path to your OneDrive folder by selecting it and pressing Ctrl+C on your keyboard.
Step 6: Create a new folder in “This PC”
Back in the “Choose Location” window, click on the “New Folder” button to create a new folder. Name it “OneDrive” or any other name you prefer.
Step 7: Paste the OneDrive path into the new folder
Select the new “OneDrive” folder and press Ctrl+V to paste the copied path into it. This will create a shortcut to your OneDrive folder in “This PC.”
Step 8: Close the windows and enjoy
Close all the open windows and you should now see the OneDrive folder listed under “This PC” in File Explorer. You can now easily access and manage your OneDrive files without having to open the OneDrive app separately.
By following these simple steps, you can get OneDrive into File Explorer and streamline your file management process. Enjoy the convenience of having your cloud storage service readily accessible right from your desktop!
