How to Delete Recents from Google Maps

Google Maps is an essential tool for navigating the world around us, whether we’re exploring new cities or finding our way around familiar streets. However, with its vast array of features and information, it can sometimes become cluttered. One such feature is the “Recents” section, which displays your recent searches, directions, and places you’ve visited. If you’re looking to clean up your Google Maps app and remove any unwanted recent activity, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to delete recents from Google Maps.

Step 1: Open Google Maps

First, you’ll need to open the Google Maps app on your smartphone or tablet. If you haven’t already installed the app, you can download it from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Step 2: Access the Menu

Once the app is open, tap on the three horizontal lines in the upper-left corner to access the menu. This will display a list of options, including “Your Places,” “For You,” “Layers,” and more.

Step 3: Go to “Your Places”

Scroll down the menu and tap on “Your Places.” This section will show you all the places you’ve saved, starred, and recently visited.

Step 4: Tap on “Recents”

Within the “Your Places” section, you’ll find a “Recents” tab. Tap on it to view your recent searches, directions, and places you’ve visited.

Step 5: Select the Item to Delete

Scroll through the list of recent activities and tap on the item you want to delete. This could be a recent search, a direction request, or a place you’ve visited.

Step 6: Delete the Item

After selecting the item, you’ll see a menu with two options: “Remove” and “Edit.” Tap on “Remove” to delete the item from your recents list.

Step 7: Confirm Deletion

A confirmation message will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to delete the item. Tap “OK” to confirm and remove the item from your recents.

Step 8: Repeat for Other Items

If you have more items you want to delete, repeat steps 5 to 7 for each item.

Step 9: Clear All Recents

If you want to clear your entire recents list, go back to the “Recents” tab in the “Your Places” section. Tap on the three dots in the upper-right corner and select “Clear All Recents.” This will remove all recent activities from your Google Maps app.

By following these steps, you can easily delete recents from Google Maps and keep your app clutter-free. Whether you’re concerned about privacy or just want to start fresh, cleaning up your recents can help you enjoy a more streamlined and personalized experience.
